After running out of her own supply, one woman sought help from a friend who supplied more than 10 opioid tablets to treat her monthly cramps.

When Caroline Daphne Grace Feeney was found with a stash of opioids, she told police she ran out of her own medication and asked a friend to help her with menstrual pain relief.

Police found two oxycodone tablets and 10 tramadol tablets during a search of her Kilcoy home.

Police prosecutor sergeant Pepi Gangemi told the Toogoolawah Magistrates Court that on June 22, officers also found 8g of marijuana, a water pipe, hose, cone piece and scissors.

Wearing pink crocs, jeans and a black hoodie, the computer operator pleaded guilty in court to five charges.

Duty lawyer Tony Kingston said his 42-year-old client used the drugs for personal use to treat period pain and migraines.

“She was previously prescribed painkillers but didn’t at this time have a prescription and arranged to get some from a friend,” Mr Kingston said.

He labelled her marijuana amount as “minor”.

Mr Kingston said his client had previous criminal history dating back to 2018 for drug offences, but asked no conviction recorded as it could impact future employment opportunities.

Feeny pleaded guilty to two charges of possessing dangerous drugs, and one charge each of possessing utensils, unlawful possession of restricted drugs and possessing property used in a drug offence.

She was fined $800 and no conviction was recorded.
