Rescue helicopter called to rollover on Utopia Rd, Boompa

A driver has suffered serious head injuries in a crash on a popular national park route in the Fraser Coast region. UPDATES.

A driver has been seriously injured in a crash west of Maryborough.

Emergency crews were called to Utopia Rd, Boompa just after 8pm Thursday.

According to the Queensland Ambulance Service, one person suffering head injuries along with chest and leg pain was flown out by rescue helicopter to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

The rural road is popular with locals and travellers visiting Mt Walsh National Park and idyllic swimming spot the Utopia Falls rockpools.
