A car confirmed by police to be stolen was ablaze in Hervey Bay on Monday afternoon after it was left dumped on the side of a busy road.

A car confirmed by police to be stolen was ablaze in Hervey Bay on Monday afternoon.
QPS and QFD attended the scene on Boundary Rd just after 2pm to find a white Mazda CX-9 on fire, with eyewitnesses reporting two people in black hoodies dumping the car only halfway off the road.
A photo from Sheryl Perry moments before the car became engulfed shows the flames started from the interior of the car.
The car has been completely destroyed and was left charred on the road’s shoulder.
Police were unable to comment further at the scene.
An investigation into what caused the fire and where the car has come from is ongoing.
The fire comes after a woman was flown to hospital following a ute fire in North Benarkin on Monday morning.
