Michael Frederick Jan Doevendans is also charged with demanding or receiving a deposit greater than the specified percentage of a contract price before providing services and starting contracted services before the contract complied with requirements.
Mr Doevendans represented himself and asked Magistrate John Milburn for a “lengthy adjournment” so he could acquire legal counsel.
He told the court he had been in a car accident on Thursday, December 5, and needed to “sort out” some things from that.
Mr Milburn adjourned the matter to February 17, 2025.
No plea was entered.
