A heartbreaking funeral service has been held for a beloved husband and father who was killed in a crash at Biggenden last month.

Booral’s Robert Glock died on March 22, 2025, after his motorcycle was involved in a three-vehicle crash in the North Burnett town.

Police and emergency services were called to Rollison Creek Bridge on Maryborough-Biggenden Rd shortly after 9.30am following reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and two vehicles.

On Thursday, a funeral service was held for Mr Glock in Hervey Bay.

Funeral director Leora Kirk said Mr Glock had taken “his final ride” on that date at the age of 74.

“We’re here with heavy hearts, still grappling with the suddenness of his passing,” she said.

Ms Kirk said he had lived with joy and passion and a love for the simple things in life.

“It is never easy to say goodbye especially when it comes without warning.”

He had loved riding his motorcycle on the open road and spending time with his family, she said.

Kirsty, Mr Glock’s daughter, paid tribute to her dad and thanked the riders who were with him when he died.

“If you were to judge a book by its cover, he looked a bit rough, like a cross between an old fisho and a seasoned old biker, which indeed he was both.

“But under that tough exterior we knew him as a big soft teddy bear, especially with his grandchildren who he absolutely cherished.”

He was a “peaceful and patient” dad, Kirsty remembered, teaching both his children how to ride bikes.

She recalled her parents meeting, soon moving in together and getting his wife Patricia into bikes almost immediately.

They had been married for 51 years.

In the 1960s, most photos of Mr Glock pictured him with a smoke in one hand, a coke in the other and always on a motorbike or with one in the background, Kirsty said.

Mr Glock had been an employee of Queensland Rail for almost 40 years, she said.

After buying a block of land at River Heads, Mr Glock put a little railway hut on it, and while it was long gone, the family still referred to it as “the hut”, she remembered, with the family spending most holidays there.

Their home later built at Booral had always been a place for the family to gather, Kirsty said.

An avid reader, Mr Glock loved his vegie patch, doing crosswords with Patricia and spending time with his children.

He’d travelled to more than 20 countries, most with his beloved wife.

“Dad was an icon in his own right, a fantastic father and grandfather who taught us commonsense and dished out plenty of tough love and in as few words as possible, still showed us how much he loved us.”

Words were then shared by Des Janke, a fellow member of the Fraser Coast Historic Bike Club, paying tribute to Mr Glock.

He had become a member in 2013, Des said, helping to organise rides and later being elected treasurer, a role he carried out for the past seven years.

Mr Glock had previously been named Clubman of the Year for his contribution to the club, Des remembered.

He said Mr Glock was a quiet man whose opinions were always valued and it had been a privilege to have his friendship.

A photo tribute was played for Mr Glock, showing the many special moments throughout his life.

Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling in the area around the time of the accident or anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact Policelink on 131 444.
