A Hervey Bay dad, who police allege is a violent, prolific drug dealer, faces a slew of charges.
The case against Daryl David Hall, 37, was mentioned briefly this week in Maryborough Magistrates Court where he is facing three charges of trafficking in dangerous drugs, five of possessing dangerous drugs, receiving or possessing property obtained from trafficking or supplying, using a carriage service to make a threat to kill, wilful damage, four of choking/strangulation/suffocation, four of assaults occasioning bodily harm, four of common assault, one count of possessing shortened firearms and three of anything used in the commission of a crime.
Police prosecutor Sonia Edwards said charges stemmed from a combination of drug-related and domestic violence allegations.
She said she would be seeking two briefs of evidence as some of the charges had to go to a higher court.
“Just for the record, the person subject to the domestic violence matters is an (alleged) co-offender for those drug matters to make things a bit more complex,” Sgt Edwards said.
“I’m unsure where she is in the scheme of matters.”
Sgt Edwards said the brief for the drugs would take extra time as there were warrants for telephone matters and certificates.
She said she would be seeking a six-to-eight-week adjournment.
Magistrate John Milburn said he would order briefs be disclosed by December 17, 2024, with the matter to be adjourned for committal mention on January 21, 2025.
There was no application for bail and Mr Hall was remanded in custody.
