Brett David Eddy charged with manslaughter after death of Tash Raven

A man who allegedly hit and killed a Hervey Bay mum with his car before fleeing the scene will remain behind bars after a brief mention in court.

Brett David Eddy, 42, was charged with manslaughter, dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving of a motor vehicle without a driver’s licence and driver fail to exhibit proper respect to deceased showing callous disregard for the needs of a person in the wake of the incident.

Hervey Bay’s Tash Raven, 43, was walking home from a night out on May 25, 2024, when she was allegedly struck by a driver on Boundary Rd in Urangan.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services, she died at the scene.

On Monday, Mr Eddy’s lawyer Travis George told the Maryborough Supreme Court his client, who did not appear, was still in custody

He said a short submission had been made in relation to some wording in the schedule of facts and one of the charges.

Mr George said the matter would likely be able to be finalised prior to the next sittings if it was heard in Brisbane.

It was adjourned to the next sittings of Maryborough Supreme Court.
