A motorcyclist flown to hospital in a critical condition after a horror crash at Burrum Heads on the weekend was still fighting for life on Monday.
Emergency services rushed to Burrum Heads following the crash between the motorcycle and another vehicle on Burrum Heads Rd about 1pm on Sunday.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics treated a man in his 60s, who sustained life-threatening injuries.
“He has injuries to his legs, chest, and abdomen,” the spokeswoman said. “He is in critical condition.”
A rescue chopper crew was sent to the scene at 1.45pm and landed the helicopter on a road nearby, which had been closed by emergency services.
A man in his 50s was treated by the LifeFlight critical care doctor and QAS flight paramedic for multiple arm and leg injuries.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman confirmed the Forensic Crash Unit was on-site.
The man was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital in a serious condition.
Burrum Heads Rd, near the Orchid Dr intersection, was closed for most of Sunday afternoon before reopening in the evening.
