Earlier this week, the LifeFlight Bundaberg-based aeromedical crew were called to K’gari (formerly Fraser Island) after a woman in her 30s was bitten by a snake on a walking track.

The rescue helicopter was sent to the east side of the island at 12.39pm on March 20.

Paramedics took the patient from the track to the waiting chopper which landed in a nearby clearing.

The patient was treated on scene by the LifeFlight critical care doctor, QAS flight paramedic and local QAS paramedics for a bite on her right foot.

She was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital for further treatment.
