Emily Thompson was allegedly killed by her ex-boyfriend, Aaron Mitchelson Huckel, and her body dumped in Nambour bushland on October 22.

Mitchelson Huckel has been charged over her murder.

She turned 18 just two weeks before her death, and was on the cusp of graduating from Pine Rivers State High School.

Many guests entered the funeral home holding sunflowers, which were Ms Thompson’s favourite.

Some of Ms Thompson’s friends, all dressed in black, embraced before walking in from the packed car park together.

The huge crowd filled the service room and spilled into the outdoor area of the establishment for the 90-minute memorial.

It featured speeches and some of Ms Thompson’s favourite things, music and huge displays of sunflowers.

The tones of Guns N’ Roses’ iconic anthem Sweet Child of Mine, ABBA’s Dancing Queen and Taylor Swift’s Shake it Off echoed onto the streets as she was laid to rest.
