Two men have had their matters mentioned in a Western Downs court after police alleged the men lit multiple fires across Tara earlier this year.

Dwayne Paul Lamb, 48, and Jayden Robert Thomas Lamb, 23, were both charged with arson offences last month after devastating fires destroyed thousands of hectares of land across the region.

Defence lawyer Claire Graham, who will be representing Dwayne, appeared in Dalby Magistrates Court and asked for an adjournment for her matters.

Ms Graham also requested an adjournment on behalf of McConnell and Salumbide Lawyers, who will be representing Jayden, to take further instructions.

Between January, February and April this year more than 4600ha of land and 14 structures were destroyed after 12 fires were allegedly lit in the Wieambilla and Tara region forcing many residents to evacuate their homes.

The court proceedings have come after an extensive investigation was conducted by specialist arson detectives from the Crime and Intelligence Command.

Dwayne Lamb has been charged with one count of arson to a structure or building and seven counts of setting fire to vegetation.

Jayden Lamb has been charged with one count of arson to a structure or building, seven counts of setting fire to vegetation and two counts of supplying dangerous drugs.

Acting magistrate Michael Bice adjourned the matters until November 7 in Dalby Magistrates Court, with both men remanded in custody.
