Police investigation underway after a man was hit by a car in Tara

A Western Downs man has been transported to hospital with numerous injuries after he was struck by a car in Tara.

A Western Downs man is being treated for numerous injuries after he was hit by a car in Tara on Wednesday night.

The 26-year-old pedestrian was treated by paramedics and taken to Tara Hospital with neck, hip and ankle injuries.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman confirmed a Holden Commodore collided with a pedestrian on Day St, Tara on August 23 at 6.18pm.

She said an investigation is underway with police determining any potential links between the crash and an earlier report of assault.

According to reports someone has alleged there was an altercation between the driver and pedestrian beforehand, with the crash reported to police hours after occurring.
