A Dalby woman exploded into a fit of rage after she discovered another woman at her partner’s home, and inflicted a savage attack on her.

Dalby Magistrates Court heard Jessica Joan Thompson entered her partner’s home at 5pm on June 3 after she discovered another car outside.

Police prosecutor Derek Brady said the victim and the witness were inside when they heard the 28-year-old walk in and yell “are you f---ing kidding me”.

The court heard Thompson lunged at her victim, grabbed her by the hair, pulled her off the lounge and onto her feet.

Sergeant Brady said Thompson dragged the victim by her hair into the middle of the room, before they both fell to the ground.

A mad scuffle ensued, where the victim attempted to push Thompson off of her while she still clung to her hair.

The witness eventually intervened, but Thompson stood up and brutally kicked her victim in the head while she was on the ground, the court heard.

Sergeant Brady said Thompson left the scene while yelling and swearing.

The victim attended Dalby Hospital the next day to be treated for bruising and swelling to her head and face.

Thompson told police she believed the witness and her were “together romantically”, but was at the residence “cheating” on her with the victim.

Defence solicitor Raymond Everest said the mother-of-five was in a relationship with the witness for two months, but agreed her behaviour was “highly unacceptable”.

Thompson pleaded guilty to one count of assault occasioning bodily harm and was fined $1000 and ordered to pay $300 compensation to her victim.

No conviction was recorded.
