A Dalby venue has been added to the list of Best Queensland Experience 2024 by Tourism and Events Queensland.

The Best of Queensland Experiences Program identifies and recognises experiences that best bring the Queensland story to life and consistently deliver exceptional customer experience.

Dalby’s Jubri’s Hideaway offers a range of services including Airbnb accommodation and a venue for birthdays, weddings, baby showers and more all set against a beautiful country backdrop.

Jubri’s Hideaway is no stranger to accolades, previously winning the 2021 and 2023 hospitality/tourism award as well as the 2021, 2022 and 2023 Top 10 Bride’s Choice Wedding Industry Award.

Owners Brian and Judy Harms said it felt great to be recognised for their hard work.

“It's very exciting we are ecstatically excited,” Brian said.

“Everyone loves the experience of what we have to offer, it is a unique boutique country venue.

“We do everything from corporate meetings, baby showers, birthday parties, weddings and more.

“When we first started at there was an assumption we were just a wedding venue but we are more than that.”

Judy said their customers loved what they had to offer.

“Our airbnbs have a five-star rating and we are fully booked out,” she said.

“It is an experience you have to see to believe and so many people say that.

“Once you get people through the gate they keep coming back, it's really a little hidden gem.”

Judy said the Jubri’s Hideaway started as a small passion project which bloomed into a thriving local business.

“We started out making a garden for our daughter to get married, and in starting my garden I carted trail loads of stuff from my parents garden. My dad used to say what are you going to do with all this stuff and I told him wait until you see it,” Judy said.

“I am very passionate about everything I do and I wanted to make a difference, I used to be an aged care nurses and I wanted to find a job where I didn’t have to hold people’s hands as they passed away and speak at their funerals crying like a banshee.

“It is a very personal venue where everyone feels like they're at home and I think that’s the most special thing. The country girl in me shines through and people feel the love. Everything we created we’ve done side-by-side with love and passion and people comment on it all the time.

Brian said this award would go a long way to promoting their business.

“We have started a program with Queensland Country Tourism to be advertised overseas with travel booking agents so we will have more overseas people coming

to Dalby,” he said.

“When people come to us they fuel up in town, have a meal or buy something at the local shops, we are contributing a lot to the local economy.”
