ON A night of glitz and glamour in Dalby, BMO made away with the town's primary business award in the annual Business Excellence Awards.

More than 400 crammed into the Dalby Showgrounds for the night and at times it doubled as a set for The Great Gatsby as many attendees dressed up in 1920s style with vintage cars parked outside the building.

Peter McKinnon and Michelle McVeigh accepted the major award on behalf of BMO and Mr McKinnon said he was honoured to win the award.

"We love the Dalby district community and we try to be part of it whatever way we can whether playing golf or going to the footy," Mr McKinnon said.

"Whatever you put into this community, you'll get back in spades."

Dalby Chamber of Commerce president Nick Koenig thanked his committee for their massive effort in setting up the night.

Twelve members of the new junior chamber dressed up in 20s fashion to act as ushers and usherettes on the night.
