Anzac Day services being held across the Western Downs 2023
From commemorative parades, Dawn Services and community breakfasts, the Western Downs will host a range of special events for Anzac Day to pay tribute to our soldiers past and present. See the full list of events here.

From laying wreaths to listening to the trumpets sound, there are many traditions that are upheld by Australians on April 25.
Residents across the Western Downs will participate in special Anzac Day services to commemorate our soldiers who fought in wars since the Federation of Australia and those who sacrificed their lives in protection of our country past and present.
Find out where and when your closest Dawn Service or commemorative event is on in our list below:
Bell
The Dawn Service will start at 6am at Anzac Memorial Park on Dennis St, with a community breakfast following the service at the Bell RSL Club on Ensor St.
Bunya Mountains
A commemoration service will be held at 8am, opposite the National Park office along Bunya Avenue.
Chinchilla
The Dawn Service will be held at 6am at Chinchilla RSL Sub Branch Soldiers Memorial Hall on Heeney St.
A commemoration march will take place at 10.45am on Bell St and a commemoration service is at 11am at Chinchilla Botanic Parkland.
Heeney St between Hypatia and Middle Sts will experience road closures throughout the morning.
Condamine
A Dawn Service will take place at 5:45am at Condamine State School on Kennedy St. The community breakfast will follow the service also located at the school.
Dalby
The Dawn Service will begin at 4:28am at Anzac Park on Patrick St, and a commemoration march will follow at 9:30am along Bell Park, Cunningham St and Patrick St.
A commemoration service will take place at 9.45am at Anzac Park on Patrick St.
Road closures will be in effect at Patrick St between Cunningham and Myall Sts throughout the morning.
Dulacca
A commemoration service will be held at 8.30am at Roy Henderson Park on the Warrego Highway.
Glenmorgan
The Dawn Service will start at 6am at Glenmorgan RSL Hall with a commemoration march following at 10:45am at the shop next to the RSL Hall.
A commemoration service will begin at 11am also at the RSL Hall and a luncheon (with additional costs) will take place after the service.
Jandowae
The Dawn Service will begin at 5.30am at Jandowae Memorial Hall at the corner of George and Market Sts.
A community breakfast will follow at the Jandowae Memorial Hall and a march at 10:30am starting at the corner of High and Dalby Sts.
A commemoration service will also take place at 11am at the Memorial Hall.
Kaimkillenbun
A commemoration service will take place at 8.30am at Cumkilenbar Park on Isabelle St.
A free community morning tea will follow also located at the Cumkilenbar Park.
Kogan
The commemoration march will kick off at 9am at the Kogan Memorial Hall park on Condamine Rd.
A service will follow at 9.15am, also located at the Memorial Hall park and a free community morning tea will follow.
Miles
The Dawn Service will take place at 5.45am at Anzac Park on Corbett Dr and will be followed by a march at 11am on the corner of Dawson and Murilla Sts.
A service will kick off at 11.15am at Anzac Park.
The Warrego Highway between Dawson and Tully Sts will experience road closures during the morning.
Tara
The Dawn Service will begin at 5.30am at Tara Soldiers Memorial Hall on Fry St, with a free breakfast following at the hall.
A commemoration march will begin at 10.20am on Day and Fry Sts, followed by a service at 10:45am and a community luncheon (at additional costs) following the service.
Day St between Sara and Roberts Sts will experience road closures throughout the morning.
Wandoan
The Dawn Service will kick off at 5.30am at W.O’Sullivan Memorial Park at Henderson Rd, followed by a community breakfast at Wandoan Bowls Club.
A commemoration march will start at 10am on Royd St, and a service at 10.10am at the Wandoan Cultural Centre on Henderson Rd.
A community morning tea will also be held at 11am at the Wandoan Cultural Centre.
Royd, Henderson and Lawton Sts will experience road closures throughout the morning.
Warra
A commemoration service will begin at 9am at the Warra Memorial Hall on the Warrego Highway, followed by a free community morning tea at the memorial hall.
