A family fundraiser is underway for a young girl seriously injured in a horror crash outside Gin Gin that killed her mother.

The GoFundMe campaign was launched for 9-year-old Angel-May late Monday night as the girl continues to recover at the Queensland Children’s Hospital following the fatal crash on Wednesday, May 15.

Angel-May and her mother, 32-year-old Carli Fisher, were travelling along Gin Gin Mount Perry Rd in a red Holden Commodore at Moolboolaman, about 15km west of Gin Gin, when their car collided with a white Isuzu D-Max ute travelling in the opposite direction about 7.40am.

Ms Fisher suffered critical injuries in the crash and died at the scene.

Angel-May was critically injured in the crash and rushed to the Bundaberg Hospital before being flown to Brisbane in a stable condition.

The 24-year-old man driver of the ute suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was flown to Bundaberg Hospital in a separate RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Helicopter.

Campaign founder Belinda Williams says in the online fundraiser the young girl now faces “some hurdles with her road to recovery”.

“For everyone who has reached out and asked if there is a way to donate or contribute for Angel, the family are making arrangements to purchase a tiny home to ensure Angel and her Dad have a place to live in,” Ms Williams says.

“It is expected there will also be ongoing assistance needed to assist her with re-establishing herself when she finally gets out of hospital that any additional funding will be put towards.”

The campaign’s target is to raise $100,000.

No charges have been laid and a police investigation into the crash continues.
