Family and friends waiting for closure over the alleged manslaughter of Nicholas “Joel” Wright will be left waiting several more weeks.
Zachary Robert Kolm had his charges mentioned in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Tuesday, October 31.
Mr Kolm is currently facing one count of manslaughter, one count of driving without a licence, one count of driving an unregistered car and one count of contravening a community service order.

Legal representative Thomas Bray appeared for Mr Kolm and requested the adjournment, and it is understood no pleas have been entered at this time.

“Mr Kolm has three traffic charges and a very serious criminal charge of manslaughter,” he said.
The matters have been adjourned to December, 12, 2023 for a further discussion towards setting up registry committal.
Mr Kolm will remain on bail ahead of his next court appearance.
In a previous bail hearing, police prosecutor Andrew Powis told the court police would be alleging Mr Kolm had consumed a large quantity of alcohol and drugs on the night of the August 2023 crash.
He told the court police will allege video footage of Mr Kolm driving dangerously before the crash, including video footage showing the car travelling more than 180km/h and GPS data showing speeds of 188 km/h, the night his car crashed, killing his passenger.
