Teenager rescued after ‘water and air search’ at Woodgate Beach
A search and rescue operation was launched on Sunday for a teenage boy who went missing while paddleboarding near Bundaberg.

A teenager who had gone missing while paddleboarding at Woodgate Beach, just south of Bundaberg, has been rescued after a “water and air” search on Sunday afternoon.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a search and rescue was conducted after reports of a paddleboarder going missing at 2.43pm.
She said they were searching for a male in his “early teens”.
“He’s been washed out by water so we are doing a search and rescue for him … we’ve got a helicopter on the way,” the spokeswoman said.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the boy was “seen to be in distress” before emergency services were called.
He said they had launched “water and air” assets” to find the boy.
Just after 4pm the QAS spokeswoman confirmed the teen had been found.
“He’s been safely rescued and he is on his way home,” she said
She also confirmed the boy had no injuries.
