Gold Coast United vs. Olympic FC men
Saturday’s fixture will be a chance for Gold Coast and Olympic to stake their claim for a spot in the top six.
With Olympic and Gold Coast sitting sixth and eighth on the table respectively, a victory this weekend is crucial for both clubs.
Gold Coast United are coming off the back of a disappointing draw against a struggling Redlands side.
After collecting only two points from their last five games in the league, Gold Coast will be looking for a victory to bolster their chances of playing finals.
A Cyrus Dehmie goal was enough for Olympic to get the victory over Rochedale last weekend.
The Olympic talisman has been in strong form after netting three goals in his last three games
in the league.
Dehmie could be the man to break open the Gold Coast defence come Saturday and kickstart his team’s climb up the ladder.
Saturday’s matchup is set to be a blockbuster, make sure you head out to Coplick Family Sports Park at 5pm to catch the game.

DARLING DOWNS
In another enthralling round of fixtures for the Darling Downs FQPL men’s league, leaders West Wanderers will come up against the Gatton Redbacks in what is set to be an exciting match between two league heavyweights.
West Wanderers are coming off the back of a 6-1 victory against St Albans, extending their
unbeaten streak to five games in the process.
Incredibly, the emphatic win saw five different goal scorers for the Wanderers, showing other teams that they have goals across the park.
Currently Wanderers are atop of the table by three points and will be looking to extend
their lead on challengers Rockville by collecting another three points this weekend.
Sunday’s matchup will be a chance for Gatton to make up lost ground on the league table, after recording back-to-back losses in recent games.
In their last outing, the Redbacks gifted Warwick their first win of the season in a game that went down to the wire.
Despite this recent performance, Gatton find themselves in third place on the league table after some impressive victories throughout the season.
In their last meeting with the Wanderers, it was Gatton that came away with the win, a performance they will be hoping to replicate this weekend.
Catch the game 3pm this Sunday at West Wanderers FC as this match will not be one to
miss.
