Rescuers had to come to the aid of a brave bystander after a watery morning crash near Bundaberg.

A brave bystander, who dashed into a creek at Meadowvale near Bundaberg to rescue a crash victim, has been saved by emergency services.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the car crashed into the creek on Hills Rd at 5.41am Wednesday.

Two people had to be rescued from the water.

The spokeswoman said one of the people was a single occupant of a car that had gone into the creek, while the other had been an unrelated bystander who dashed in after the crashed car to help the driver.

One was taken to hospital in a stable condition, while the other declined to be taken to hospital.
