Bundaberg police call for information on Walkervale crash

Police have put out a call for CCTV or eye witnesses to a crash that happened on a busy Bundaberg street and involved a car slamming into a light pole after it went out of control.

Bundaberg police have put out a call for anyone with dashcam video or who witnessed a crash at Walkervale on March 3, to come forward.

The incident happened at the intersection of Barolin and Walker Sts, between the section bordered by Lamb and Colman Sts.

On Thursday, March 3, at 4.15pm, emergency crews received a call that a car, a white Holden Commodore with registration 272XJP, had slammed into a pole.

“Prior to the crash, the vehicle was travelling along Barolin St in a southerly direction when it has lost control, causing the vehicle to fishtail and slide into a light pole on a median strip,” a police statement said.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said the incident resulted in the male driver, in his late 40s, being taken to Bundaberg Hospital.

The man was taken to hospital in a stable condition,with shoulder pain.

Police are appealing to any members of the public who may have witnessed the vehicle in the area at the time or have dashcam vision of the vehicle to contact Policelink on 131 444 and quote QP2200369553.
