Emergency services rush to North Isis blaze caused by faulty chimney

A man aged in his 30s was treated for smoke inhalation on Sunday night following a house fire at North Isis.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said four fire crews arrived at the scene of the fire on Knockroe Rd shortly after 9.30pm.

All occupants were outside the house on arrival, and the crews worked to extinguish a ceiling fire contained to the chimney area, the spokesperson said.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a man in his 30s was transported to Bundaberg Hospital at 9.12pm with mild smoke inhalation.

Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service was contacted for the man’s condition on Monday.

Queensland Police Service received no reports of the fire.
