Bundaberg Regional Council will hold a community briefing next week as part of the next stage of a major development planned for Moore Park Beach.

The will be one of the final steps before work is expected to begin in July 2022, weather and funding permitting.

The Moore Park Beach Masterplan: Place and Spaces was endorsed by Bundaberg council in April.

The council engaged local consultants InsiteSJC to create the masterplan for the community hub.

The plans include improvements to core areas such as the Moore Park Beach Surf Lifesaving Club.

The project aims to do a number of things for the area, including improving recreational facilities and amenities in Moore Park Beach to attract young families, and raising the profile of the community as a destination for holiday makers and day trippers.

The masterplan will guide future environmental improvements in sensitive natural and riparian areas and provide direction of a staged capital works program over the next five to 10 years.

The Spaces and Places plan states that the area involved extends from Claude Dooley Park and Palm View Drive at the northwestern end, along Pacific Boulevard to the Moore Park Beach Holiday Park and to Lassig Street at the southeastern end.

The report recommends the project be completed in stages, the first of which includes the surf lifesaving club and a community deck.

Other key areas in the plan will include the community hall, duck pond and holiday park.

The process includes community consultation on plans for a skatepark.

The community briefing will be held at the Moore Park Beach Bowls Club from 5.30-7pm on November 22.
