Into Love store theft, Bundaberg

Into Love Adult Superstore isn’t afraid to call out bad behaviour, especially when it walks out the door with a $200 toy stuffed into a handbag.

The local store has turned its security cameras into a kind of social justice tool, regularly uploading footage of alleged shoplifters to its Facebook page with colourful captions, rewards for tip-offs, and the occasional offer of redemption.

“Well, here we are once again,” the workers posted recently, alongside footage of a woman allegedly pocketing a vibrator before making a getaway, early May.
“We thank all of our loyal customers who bring in their wallets with their handbags and pay for items.”

Another clip shows a man leaving the store with a full-sized inflatable doll — though his getaway wasn’t quite as discreet as he may have hoped.

For those caught on camera, the message is clear: pay up and the footage might come down.

“It is against the law to steal.
“We do have signs at the front door, we will post it on Facebook and we will press charges,” the post continued.

And for anyone worried about the cost of certain bedroom enhancements, the store reminded customers it even offers lay-by.

As for community involvement, the store encourages it, offering 20 per cent off for the first correct ID via phone or private message, and assuring would-be tipsters their anonymity is safe.

The cheeky tone hasn’t dulled the seriousness of the issue.
Like many small businesses, Into Love is trying to protect its stock, its staff, and its right to stay open in the face of petty theft.

“We will always make sure a small family-run business can stay in business by making sure customers can afford to pay for items,” the post read.

It seems in Bundaberg, crime might not pay — but honesty gets you a discount.
