Driver charged after Maroondan crash that killed Brayden Roy

A driver has been charged over a horror crash near Gin Gin that killed 21-year-old Braydon Roy.

An 81-year-old Horse Camp man has been charged over the April 20, 2023, crash that killed a 21-year-old motorbike rider near Gin Gin.

Twenty-one-year-old Brayden Roy was riding a red Honda motorcycle along Bundaberg Gin Gin Rd at Maroondan, 5km east of Gin Gin, when it crashed with a silver Ford Ranger Utility near the town’s school about 11am on April 20.

Mr Roy suffered critical injuries in the crash and died at the scene.

On Thursday, May 18, police said they had charged the driver of the ute with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.

It has not yet been revealed when the 81-year-old man will front court.
