Sailor rescued from moving cargo ship by RACQ LifeFlight

An injured man was winched from the deck of a moving cargo ship by the Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter on Wednesday night.
An RACQ LifeFlight spokesperson said the man in his 30s suffered a serious leg injury while working on board the vessel about 100 nautical miles off the Central Queensland coast.

A RACQ LifeFlight helicopter was dispatched around 1pm on Wednesday.
On reaching the scene, an RACQ LifeLight critical care doctor and a Queensland Ambulance Service paramedic were winched down to provide treatment and secure the patient into a stretcher.
The injured man was winched up on the stretcher and flown to Bundaberg Hospital in a serious condition.
A Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service spokesman said on Thursday that the man remained in Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.
