Bundaberg father jailed for raping daughter, making child exploitation material

Police have uncovered hundreds of videos and images during a raid that exposed a father's systematic abuse of his young daughter.

A Bundaberg region man has been exposed as a depraved rapist after he subjected his young daughter to vile sexual abuse over a two-year period.

The man, aged in his 30s and the sole carer of the child, was sentenced in Bundaberg District Court for nine sexual abuse charges including one count of possessing child exploitation material, one count of making child exploitation material, two counts of rape and five counts of indecent treatment of a child, under 12 of lineal descent.

A police search at the man’s home on April 11, 2024 uncovered the scale of the offending.

During the search police found several devices which contained 757 videos and 1490 images described as category one in nature, along with a further 31 videos and 177 images placed in category two.

Judge Nathan Jarro described the material which depicted the man’s daughter performing sexual acts on him as “unfathomable”.

He was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in jail, and will be eligible for parole on February 10, 2027.
