QAS, QPS respond to truck rollover on New England Highway at Cooyar

Emergency service crews remain at the scene of a truck rollover with dead cattle forcing a prolonged closure of the New England Highway north of Toowoomba.
The single-vehicle crash occurred on a bend of the highway near Cooyar, on Tuesday about 10.30am.
A spokesman from the Queensland Ambulance Service said the male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was assessed at the scene for minor injuries.
The spokesman said the driver declined to be transported to hospital.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said traffic had been affected as a result of the incident and diversions had been put in place along Palms Rd.
At 4.30pm, a QPS spokeswoman said the highway was still closed as crews work to “clean-up” dead cattle.
The cows were being transported on the truck at the time of the crash.
No indication could be provided on when the highway would reopen.
