More than 150 people attended the 2022 Ray White Highfields King of the The Mountain Slot Holder Draw last Friday, with tickets selling for $290 per head.
Known as Toowoomba’s richest horse race, two slots were auctioned off for a combined total of $184,000, while 10 additional slots were drawn by ballot.
The first slot was sold to Sherilee Estate for $100,000 and the second was auctioned off to Harvey Black and Lyndhurst Stud who teamed up to submit the $84,000 bid.
A portion of the money raised will be donated to three charities including Toowoomba’s own The Lighthouse by Emma Mactaggart.
Chef Jerome Dalton served the 155 patrons a decadent three course meal and featured Mort and Co’s phoenix waygu, which was cooked on a fire dome in front of the crowd.
