Toowoomba’s four-legged friends gave a valiant effort as they embarked on their final Million Paws Walk in Queens Park.
The RSPCA announced in February it would no longer host the charity event after 2025, citing the financial after-effects of Covid-19 putting pressure on pet owners.
Toowoomba Beagles Club member Kylie Wright has attended the event for the past 13-years, noticing the decline in attendees post pandemic.
“It’s always a really great day out, it’s a shame it's not continuing,” she said.
Aside from the beagle lovers’ monthly catch up, Ms Wright said there weren’t any other events similar to Million Paws in the region.
“It’s a good opportunity to raise awareness for the RSPCA and also get out and be part of the community,” she said.
Ms Wright hopes the event will one day be reinstated.
