Permanent make-up: New salon specialises in newest beauty trends

Gone are the days of make-up faux pas like uneven eye liner and overdrawn brows, as the region’s newest beauty salon opens its doors. See everything you need to know here.

We’ve all been there when it comes to make-up faux pas, from uneven eye liner and overdrawn brows, to goopy mascara, but as one industry continues to boom, the idea of permanent make-up has never looked so appealing.

For mother-of-two Rebecca Westman, time became something of a rare commodity, so she began looking at alternative ways to take care of herself and recently opened her own business The Cosmetic Tattoo Room.

“As a working mum, I’m quite time poor, so getting into the gym didn’t really fit into my life,” she said.

“So I started trying body sculpting instead and got the results without needing to find the time to go to gym or worrying about making the 5am yoga class.”

Offering a range of non-invasive treatments without the pain, hefty price tag or surgery, Ms Westman’s list of services include body sculpting to strengthen and tone the body and facelifts, as well as cosmetic tattooing for brows, lashes, eyeliner and lips.

While the trending industry is known to help boost clients’ self-esteem, there are also many mental and physical benefits.

In fact, cosmetic tattooing has also assisted people with Alopecia, those undergoing chemotherapy or to cover traumatic scars and burns.

“Body sculpting results in a significant reduction in back pain, helps with sleeping problems, boosts endorphins and heightens the metabolism,” Ms Westman said.

“Our clients come in the next day and say ‘look at my bum – it feels so firm’ and that’s really exciting for me.”

The Cosmetic Tattoo Room is at 22 James St and is open by appointment only, weekdays from 4pm to late and weekends from 9am to 5pm.
