1. Toowoomba Farmers Markets
There is something for everyone at the popular Toowoomba farmers markets, from fresh meats, fruit and vegetables to honeys, breads and local spirits head on down to the windmills at Cobb & Co from 7am to 12pm to stock up for the week ahead.
If you miss out on Saturday’s action there is also the Toowoomba PCYC Market at 219 James St from 7am to 12.30pm on Sunday.
2. Super Saturday Open Day
Gather the friends and family and hop aboard a train tour from Drayton to Wyreema. Enjoy views of the Darling Downs countryside on a beautifully restored heritage passenger train before touring the DownsSteam Museum and learning more about the history of locomotive industry. The hour and a half train rides depart from Drayton at 10am and 1pm
3. Clifton Township 150 Years Celebration
The little town of Clifton is celebrating their 150th anniversary. Join the just over 1000 locals and celebrate with some historical displays, live demonstrations, games, food, and more. Celebrations kick off from 10:00am at the Clifton Museum 46 King St.
4. One More Night of Phil Collins
One More Night of … Phil Collins pays tribute to one of the best selling artists of all time, English singer/song writer and drummer, Phil Collins.
UK born drummer and singer Dion Connelly and his band will entertain guests all night with Collin’s greatests hits including ‘In the Air Tonight’, ‘Easy Lover’, ‘Another Day in Paradise’, and ‘Groovy Kind of Love’. The event will kick-off at 7.30pm at the Empire Theatre.
5. Fight Knife 28
Brave knights dressed head to toe in gleaming suits of armour and armed with medieval weapons will do battle this weekend at the Toowoomba Showgrounds. Spectators can witness the excitement of one-on-one and group match cage fights while enjoying a live band. All the action will kick off from 6pm Saturday night.
6. Tony’s Kitchen Turns 5
Homeless support organisation Tony’s Kitchen will celebrate their fifth birthday this Sunday. The charity have been integral in supporting Toowoomba’s homeless population feeding up to 900 people a week. The team will celebrate with a relaxed afternoon of good food, great people, and heartfelt gratitude and invited guests to come along and take part in the festivities. There will be a barbecue, cake and give always from 4.30 – 6.30pm at 174A James Street.
7. Rusty Pickups Notes From The Postman
Catch country and folk quartet Rusty Pickups live from Postman’s Ridge Hall on Saturday night. In the last year alone, they’ve played alongside Darren Hanlon, Kasey Chambers, Haystack Mountain Hermits, Kankawa Nagarra, and even shared a stage with Bluey and Bingo at the Easter In The Country. The group bring together a classic country-folk sound blending splashes of riverboat keys, melodic clawhammer banjo, rolling upright bass, charming acoustic guitar, and classic storytelling vocals.
8. Once Upon a Toybox
Step into a world of wonder as Darling Downs Revue presents Once Upon a Toybox this Saturday. This year’s theatrical variety show is a journey through the magic of childhood, where toys come to life and adventures unfold before your eyes. From the excitement of Christmas morning to the roar of dinosaurs, the glitz of Barbie’s world to the rumble of trucks on a construction site — this show is packed with laughter, music, and dazzling performances. The show will be held at the Graham Centre Downlands, 72 Ruthven Street, Harlaxton.
9. Theatre of Magic
Featuring Australia’s best magicians, the Theatre of Magic will dazzle guests at the Empire Theatre on Saturday night from 5pm – 6.30pm. Some of the acts include The Amazing Nigel, one of the best close-up magicians in the world, Josh Norbido one of the groups newest performers and Sean Mergard, who has taken Australia by storm with his ability read minds and predict the future.
10. Vinnies Car Park Sale
Head on down to Vinnies Toowoomba (Madonna House) for one of their biggest sales of the year. For just $10 shoppers can fill a bag. Hundreds of second hand items will be on sale and all funds will go directly to Vinnies Queensland’s essential services. Doors open from 9am to 2pm.
