England’s Ashes hopes are fading but the mocking is growing as the tourists cop more heat for their latest decision. HAVE YOUR SAY

England’s spiralling Ashes hopes continue to be mocked, with fresh calls to can Bazball and implement IQ tests for hierarchy.

The tourists slumped to a shocking eight-wicket defeat at the Gabba in the second Test, sparking demand for change before the series truly ends in catastrophe.

Veteran reporter Robert Craddock highlighted the growing concerns for the England camp as they head to Noosa for some R & R.

“You have got to hand it to England’s tourists. They know how to prepare for a Test,” he joked.

“Before Test one it was a solitary hit and giggle game in Perth on a low deck. Before the second it was avoiding a pink ball game in Canberra which was fine until they dropped five catches at the Gabba as they struggled to see the pink ball.

“And now the team will head off to Noosa for some rest and recovery before the third Test in Adelaide after losing the second Test in Brisbane to – let’s be honest – an Australian side which looked hugely gettable on paper.”

So on to the bigger problem.

“England might well find Noosa’s a great place for peace and serenity until it’s not,” he wrote.

“England will now be trailed by a tidal wave of inquests into Bazball, whether it should be abandoned, why it’s not working and what is the future.”

As even Aussie skipper Steve Smith got into the sledging, readers couldn’t agree more, with many mocking the tourists and their poor preparation.

Others took aim at Bazball and insisted it must go.

While some simply hailed the Aussies as they march towards retaining the Ashes.

England are simply too arrogant, they thought they would just come to Australia, play the way they want and win. They then ran into what is the Australian test side without several of its best cricketers, still probably the best pace bowling attack in the world. It’s probably time to select a few other players and lose these guys.

So what exactly is this ‘Bazball’? Australia scored faster than England in both in innings. The English players talk the talk but just wilt against Australia. Broad, the English pantomime villain, was soooo frustrated by his boys in commentary. And boy, did we Australians just love it all.

McCullum has to go, there’s talent in that side just poorly coached for test cricket. Why was 80% of Archer’s deliveries short and in effective? Dumb cricket.

Silly Poms in denial. And always talking up their players. Champions consistently perform to their best. So missing in action Brook, Duggett, Pope and the rest of the failures are not to be looked up to. Just hopeless. And our quiet achiever Starc managed 77 with the bat. It must be hard for the 40 000 spectators who made the trip to even watch.
