THE photo of the emerging Toowoomba viaduct earlier this week is remarkable in that, even though it shows only about two thirds of the viaduct, it indicates surely what a remarkable entrance it will be for travellers to Toowoomba and for the rest of the Darling Downs.
There is nothing like this for size in the Southern Hemisphere and every other viaduct in the Northern Hemisphere appears to be over valleys.
Climbing the range up the Toowoomba viaduct will be an Australian icon.
