Perhaps the council might take a moment to consider an example set by the Western Downs Regional Council in the case of Wonka Rd near Cecil Plains.
Unfortunately Wonka is pronounced wanka therefore making the road sign a prime target.
Western Downs has resolved the situation by installing a one tonne sandstone block on the corner set into a slab of concrete depicting the name Wonka Rd in very large black lettering.
Boom boom.
