'Council delights in making things hard for the Wagners'

YOUR SAY: I AM somewhat bewildered by some of the stories I read about the Toowoomba Regional Council and the restrictions placed on certain developers wishing to develop areas of Toowoomba and surrounding areas.

I have been to many areas of Australia and other countries but have never heard of a council putting a restriction on the amount of workers a company can have on site at any one time.

There is also the issue of stormwater to which the council had no or little input but wants millions for this water to discharge into a creek.

It seems to me the council has great delight in making things as hard as possible for the Wagner family as I read today about many extra conditions added to the Gladstone Hotel project.

I have never spoken to any of the Wagner family but I consider them to be in the same high esteem as the Thiess family many years ago.

If the council had a future outlook for Toowoomba it should be considering the closure of the airport at Wilsonton and moving all the works to Wellcamp before there is a tragedy with a small plane falling out of the sky and into a surrounding housing estate.
