Man rushed to hospital after flipping car north of Toowoomba, closing highway

A man has been rushed to hospital following a single-vehicle rollover on the New England Highway north of Toowoomba.

The northbound lane of the New England Highway came to a grinding halt following a single-vehicle crash at Mount Kynoch on Saturday afternoon.

At about 2.50pm, a sedan that was travelling northbound towards Highfields when it crashed and rolled on the highway just north of Toowoomba after Weale Street.

The vehicle came to rest on the roof and the male driver was not seriously injured.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a man in his 40s was transported to the Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.

She said he was suffering from suspected head injuries.

The road was fully reopened by the Queensland Police Service before 4pm.

At the same time of the incident, another single-vehicle accident occurred at Wilsonton Heights about 2.50pm on Saturday, August 24.

There were two people in the car when it crashed with a fence on the corner of Sherry Street and Wine Drive.

The QAS spokeswoman said a man declined to be transported to the hospital.
