Nadia Bartel admits she suffered from a case of “stage fright” during her debut on Dancing With the Stars on Sunday night.

Bartel, mum of two and fashion businesswoman, was given harsh feedback and low scores from the judges after her first performance with dance partner Lyu Masuda.

Laying low on holiday in Bali, Bartel said she was glad to be out of the country when the show premiered.

“I was really nervous about watching my performance because I got so much stage fright before I went on for that performance and I knew it wasn’t great,’’ Bartel said in a video posted to TikTok.

“I just found the whole thing of performing on stage so much harder than it looks and you imagine it to be.

“I’m so confident when I dance around with the boys at home or with girlfriends. Even with rehearsals, in practising I kind of nailed it but just before I had to get up on stage seeing the cameras, seeing all the audience so close to me, I felt so nervous and forgot some of my steps.”

Bartel, wearing a glamorous gold gown, debuted on the show along with former footy champion Ben Cousins. She said she had so much admiration for performers with the Henne founder suggesting she might not be cut out for showbiz.

“So much admiration for dancers, performers, comedians, singers, actors … just getting up on stage and being able to do that I don’t think I’m cut out for that,’’ she said.

“It could just be because I’ve never done it before but I found that whole performing and getting into character and having to be sexy or whatever that character is you need to be in that moment, so, so hard.”
