Woman caught on camera in wild incident on tram near Northcliffe station

Footage has emerged of the moment a woman allegedly launched into a wild rage on board a packed Gold Coast tram, leaving passengers in shock. SEE THE VIDEO

Footage has emerged from on board a Gold Coast tram capturing a woman launching into a wild rage, screaming and attempting to hit a young man.

In the video, which appears to have been filmed by a passenger near Northcliffe station, the woman can be heard screaming and running down the centre of the tram. She appears to lunge at a young man, attempting to punch him in the face.

“Oh Jesus Christ,” a shocked passenger can be heard saying as the man weaves out of the way and the woman falls to the ground. It’s followed by loud audible gasps from other bystanders.

“Stop! Stop!,” a person can be heard shouting as the woman gets back up and continues pursuing the man down the carriage.

She can be heard screaming while she repeatedly swings and attempts to punch him in the face.

The man yells something at other passengers, who are visibly shocked at what is unfolding.

“Stop! Stop hurting him,” a person shouts.

“Is this allowed guys?,” the young man can be heard yelling before the video comes to an abrupt end.

It’s unclear what occurred in the lead-up to the incident or if the pair are known to each other. The tram was loaded with commuters at the time, with very young children witnessing the violent altercation.

The Queensland Police Service and GoldLinQ have both been made aware of the incident. It is still not known at this stage whether an official complaint has been made over the matter.
