Multiple fire crews rushed to a blaze on the 22nd floor of a $160 million luxury tower on the Gold Coast.
The fire took hold at rising tower Lily on Rosewood Ave in Broadbeach around 6pm on Wednesday.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said five crews were called to the lofty emergency, which was sparked in a section of the building that is still under construction.
They were able to control the fire and extinguished it by 7.20pm.
Southeast Queensland developer Mosaic began construction of the $160 million tower in Broadbeach in 2023.
It will feature 98 apartments with uninterrupted ocean views, a gymnasium, sauna, steam room, resort pool, barbecue and a top-floor residents’ lounge.
Lily is Mosaic’s 10th project on the Gold Coast in less than four years.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
