Detectives have charged a 57-year-old woman with a string of offences following a disturbing alleged attack in Geelong.
A Thomson woman was charged on Tuesday with aggravated burglary, intentionally cause serious injury, and intentionally cause injury.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said the alleged parties were known to one another.
Earlier, police and paramedics were called to a Thomson flat on Sunday about 4pm after a 68-year-old woman was found inside with severe injuries.
The 57-year-old was arrested at the scene on Godfrey St.
It’s believed the victim suffered life-threatening head injuries at the time.
She remains in the Geelong hospital in a stable condition.
Forensics and specialist police were back at the scene on Monday afternoon and were observed scouring areas of the commission housing complex.
A neighbour said a lady inside one of the units “seemed to go off at night”.
“One of them does have some strange characters,” he said.
“It doesn’t surprise me that something has happened.”
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said paramedics treated the woman “for a head injury” before she was rushed to hospital.
