Motorists can expect short delays as part of works to upgrade the James and Neil St intersection in Toowoomba City, beginning early March.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads has scheduled the upgrade works which will include installing new traffic lights, poles and signal controllers at the intersection.
The works are expected to be completed in early April, weather permitting.
Road works will be conducted between 6pm and 6am, Sunday to Friday and between 7am and 6pm, on Saturdays and Sundays.
There will be staged lane and footpath closures with local detours and barricades in place where necessary.
DTMR advised traffic control signs will be erected to direct traffic through the works safely, however short delays of up to five minutes and speed reductions to 40km/h can be expected.
Nearby residents and businesses will experience temporary construction noise, dust, and lighting while works are completed.
“We thank you for your patience and understanding during the delivery of these important works and apologise for any inconvenience they may cause,” DTMR said in a statement.
