As the saying goes, you can take on the world in a good suit and the region’s residents are about to find out why.

Norfords Custom Suits director Abraham Slatter, 26, was born in Brisbane but has called Toowoomba home since he was just seven-years-old.

After previously working in conventional menswear stores, he discovered the most common issues customers faced when buying suits off the rack included limited designs, ill-fitting garments and the high costs of alterations.

Passionate about offering an alternative, he joined forced with his business partner Michael Hughes, who founded Norfords in 2016.

Now, after years of running the successful tailor-made suit business in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, the entrepreneur is launching his menswear brand in the garden city.

“Toowoomba has been home to me for a long time and it’s a growing city so I feel it’s the perfect time to really establish our brand here,” Mr Slatter said.

“When it comes to high quality menswear and suiting, there isn’t a lot on offer in Toowoomba, so I think it’s going to exciting for a lot of guys and girls to be able to access tailor-made clothing without having to leave Toowoomba.”

While his love for quality fashion first sparked his interest in the brand, Mr Slatter said he loves forming relationships with clients and making a difference for them most.

“What I love most about the work that I do with Norfords is that we’re not just selling clothes – we’re empowering people to achieve success in their own life, whatever that looks like to them,” he said.

“Dressing well brings a sense of confidence and self-respect, and I know from both my own experience and the experiences of my clients that more opportunities in your professional and personal life come as a result of that.”
