Since she was a baby, Willow Bray has been calmed by the sight of a flower.
“Whenever we’re at home and she is upset we try and distract her by going out and finding a flower in the garden,” the two and a half year old’s dad Jacob said.
After making the trek out from the Gold Coast for the Carnival of Flowers this weekend, Mr Bray said his daughter has been thrilled to see the colourful variety of flowers on display across Toowoomba’s gardens.
“My wife and I thought let’s do a crazy holiday to see the flowers,” he said.
“This is the first time I’ve been in Toowoomba, my wife has been here for work and we’ve had a great time going to Queens Park, the Japanese Garden and Laurel Bank Park.
“The poppies and tulips were Willow’s favourites, and she loved the hedges shaped like animals at Laurel Bank Park.”
The city’s parks haven’t been the only place for flower lovers to visit, with more than 40 stunning private gardens open to the public after participating in the 2022 Chronicle Garden Competition.
