Toowoomba Regional Council wants the community to have its say on plans to upgrade Cathro Park and develop a design master plan for the section of East Creek from Ruthven to Hume streets.

Council's general manager of Planning and Development Mr Stewart Somers said the park would be upgraded as Stage 2 of the Ruthven St Streetscape Upgrade project.

"Council is keen to hear what the community would like to see included in the design aspects of the park upgrade, keeping in mind that the extent of the upgrade will be subject to available funding and other considerations," Mr Somers said.

"A master plan also will be developed for the section of East Creek from Ruthven St to Hume St to provide a long-term vision for the growth and development of the area.

"Council welcomes community feedback and ideas for the East Creek design master plan."

Council will be contacting nearby businesses, residents and park users to discuss the park upgrade and design master plan.

A community consultation session will be held to consult stakeholders on the park upgrade and design master plan and to form a stakeholder reference group.

The consultation session will be held on Thursday, 14 April at the Lounge Bar Room, upstairs Empire Theatre, Neil St, Toowoomba from 6pm to 7pm.
