Designer First Homes Dare Devils skipper Brenton Edwards propelled his side to victory over the Halpin Hurricanes in the Barrier Reef Big Bash at Griffiths Park on Friday night.
The power hitter set the ground ablaze with a scorching unbeaten knock, smashing four sixes on his way to 64* off 53 deliveries to help the Dare Devils to 3/143.

Josh Chadwick (25 off 36) and Tom Boorman (22 off 19) also chipped in, while Hurricanes spearhead Blake Raper was handy with the ball, taking 1-10 from his four overs.
Following a short rain delay after the innings break, the Hurricanes were sent out to chase a reduced total of 108 from 14 overs.
Brendan Nasser (26 off 24) and Barry Weare (19 of 16) did their best to give the Hurricanes a chance, producing some lusty blows in a 44-run stand, but it proved too much as the they finished 12 runs short at 6/96.
Dare Devils bowlers Seppe Barletta, Tom Lever and Boorman took two wickets apiece.
The Barrier Reef Big Bash will go on a break for two weeks while the Cricket Far North first-grade finals play out, before returning on Friday, March 12, with the Twomey Schriber Thunder to face the Piccones Badgers at Griffiths Park from 6.30pm.
The Cairns Post has partnered with the Cairns Cricket Association to livestream the first Barrier Reef Big Bash.
The Cairns Post will stream 10 of the 12 regular season games and the finals live via the Cairns Post website.

The tournament is scheduled to play matches on March 12, 13 (two games), 14 (two games), 19 and 20 (three games).
The first round of finals will be played on March 21, with the challenger final to be played on March 26, followed by the grand final on March 27.
A decision is yet to be made about the rescheduling of the February 12 clash between Dare Devils and Thunder.
All games will be played at Griffiths Park.
