Organiser Kev Maher said the first three picks were not a surprise, but from there it was a lucky dip as the franchises built well-balanced, talented squads for the first edition of the Twenty20 tournament.
The first four games will be played on Friday nights, with others spread over the weekends of March 13-14 and 20-21.
The challenger final is on March 26, with the grand final on March 27.
All games will be played at Griffiths Park.
