TOOWOOMBA'S business leaders got an behind-the-scene insight into the $500m redevelopment of Grand Central shopping centre.
The Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Business at Dusk function saw about 150 people tour the QIC project along with the new Toowoomba City Library construction site.
"The interest in our project has been excellent and we're very happy to give people a bit of a look at the making of Toowoomba history really," Grand Central Shopping Centre manager Shaine Beveridge said.

Mr Beveridge said the project was generating a buzz across Toowoomba.
"There is a lot of people (retailers) putting their hand up saying they want to be a part of our development."
Mr Beveridge said the redevelopment would make Toowoomba a shopping destination for people living across south-west Queensland.
"I think everyone is very excited about the potential to be able to do all that shopping locally," he said.
QIC are on track to have the project completed by September next year.
"The program is very much on schedule, we're probably a little over halfway through construction and our goal is to open before Christmas next year," Mr Beveridge said.
