Galaxy, Oreo, salted caramel and jam lamington are just some of the mouth-watering flavours available at Toowoomba’s newest bakery.
The first store opened in Kingaroy about 18 months ago, followed by a site in Hervey Bay and now Windmill Bakery has made its mark on Toowoomba.
Opening up the new store in Toowoomba Plaza last Friday, business consultant Doug Fogg said it was a busy first weekend of trade.
And while customers will find their traditional bakery items in store, from sausage rolls and pies, to sourdough loaves, they’ll also find the ultimate sugar fix.
“We saw a gap in the market for bakeries focused on doughnuts – they’re fun, enjoyable and when you see someone eating one, they’re always happy,” Mr Fogg said.
“In a traditional bakery, you’ll find your custard tarts, vanilla slices and jam and cream buns, so we have all of that, but in doughnut form.”
Items are made onsite daily.
A box of four doughnuts costs $15 or of six is $20.
Windmill Bakery is at 22A Toowoomba Plaza, 878-898 Ruthven St, Kearneys Spring.
The store is open seven days a week from 6am.
From now until Christmas, it will trade until 8pm on weekdays.
